Sunset Down Under

Last night we went out to watch the sunset and drink some beer. The colors were bright and magnificent. We also got to see a platypus swimming in the water. I loved the silhouette of the gum trees in the sunset...breathtaking!

Not in Kansas anymore...

Some things are different over here. There are kangaroos in the vineyards...
Trash is called Rubbish
Burger King is called Hungry Jacks
and you can see through the money!

Aussie Wine Tasting

I went wine tasting in Australia today! My favorite was a reserve brut at Riverstone Winery. We also tasted some Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
The Yarra Valley rocks!
Look! Aussie vines look like America vines!
The vista from where we drank our bottle of bubbly.
And to think, we met at Lucerne Christian Conference Center...
Love me some vino!
So does Becky!
Cheese platter from heaven...
My amazing hosts!

Outback Odessey

Today, we went to a native animal sanctuary. On the way, there were kangaroos just hanging out in the fields, even one as road kill :(. I was so excited to see them for the first time.

Pelicans
"sexy time" kangaroo
Have you seen a koala bear?
Emu sounds like Emy!

Tasmanian Devils looking not so scary.

Breakfast of Champions

I had a delicious "biscuit" with my coffee this morning. If you bite a corner off the top and bottom it becomes a delicious dark chocolate straw...YUM!!!!!!!!!!!
I ate vegemite, or as I like to call it, spreadable beer...NASTY!
Who would look in this jar and think, yum, I think I'll make a vegemite sandwich????
Bravely spreading the beer on my bread...
Then eating the goop...

One bite was enough for me.

Greetings from Australia

If my flight wasn't delayed at LAX, I wouldn't have been able to see the pink cotton candy clouds at daybreak.
My sunrise in Sydney this morning!
Becky driving on the wrong side of the road...
If you've watched Ghost Rider, this is the bridge he drives on...
Downtown Melbourne by the Yarra River.

After 27 hours, I am here safe and sound. [
